About us

My passion for bully breeds began with our first English Bulldog, Bush.

Despite researching before bringing Bush home, our knowledge was limited to generic information and advice from the veterinarian. Believing the breed inherently came with certain "issues," we invested heavily in premium kibble (high-protein, expensive, and marketed as "perfectly balanced in ways we couldn’t possibly achieve on our own"), supplements for coat, eyes, and joints, constant deworming, and regular vet visits.

Unfortunately, this approach led to an unintended outcome: the combination of premium kibble, supplements, and frequent medications weakened Bush's immune system, resulting in recurring illnesses, rounds of antibiotics, and ultimately, complex issues like malabsorption.

The turning point came when we decided to challenge conventional thinking. After reading Dog Nutrition 101 by Nora Lenz, based on the principles of Natural Hygiene and Rotational MonoFeeding (RMF), we realized that dogs, like us, thrive on a diet that mirrors their ancestral, raw nutrition. We shifted to a raw diet focused on hydration (lipid hydration) and eliminated artificial supplements and medications that could harm the liver. This marked a complete transformation.

Inspired by this success, we adopted another English Bulldog, Yoshi, a senior dog suffering from obesity and heart issues (cardiomegaly). By applying the same raw, rotational mono-feeding diet, this bulldog thrived without medication, proving that even serious conditions like cardiomegaly could be managed naturally.

Over time, we transitioned from RMF (which allows some cooked plant meals, such as sweet potatoes or quinoa) to a fully raw diet inspired by Lauren Whiteman, a Natural Hygienist whose guidance has been invaluable.

Driven by the remarkable improvements we witnessed, I deepened my understanding of canine nutrition through formal education. I earned the SEG Awards Level 3 Certificate from Learn Direct, the iPET Network Level 3 Diploma with Caroline Griffith, and completed a two-year, internationally recognized Level 3 Diploma in Canine Nutrition—regulated by Ofqual.

This journey also gave me the unique opportunity to attend exclusive lectures and interviews with wolf experts, nutrition consultants, and fresh food breeders. These experiences enriched my understanding of canine nutrition, blending scientific principles with holistic approaches to dog care.
